Job Duties:  Assembles, repairs, and maintains Baader fish fileting machine, Baader fish trimming and scaling machine and/or Baader fish skinning machines, and/or Baader fish mincing machines fish skinning machine by performing the following duties: Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs) ● Repairs and maintains the Baader systems ● Repairs and maintains the mechanical systems of fish fileting machines ● Training and teaching others in safe and efficient procedures. ● Ensures adequate inventory at all times by tracking the supply of machine replacement parts and placing requisitions as necessary. ● Determines appropriate machine adjustments by communicating with Quality Control regarding product specifications. ● Sets and adjusts machine parts in accordance with operational specifications and safety procedures. ● Completes product recovery tests as necessary making machine adjustments to ensure the desired conversion factors and yield ratios are successfully achieved. ● Makes adjustments to ensure that the desired conversion factors and yield ratios are being successfully achieved. ● Tests the machines to verify step motors and tooling are set up and running in a safe and efficient manner. ● Completes related maintenance documentation which may include machine log books, work orders, test reports, part inventories and part orders. ● Understands and actively implements safe work procedures and standards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be capable of boarding and departing (exiting) a vessel without assistance by moving. May also enter and exit a skiff from a dock, plane, or a boat unassisted. Must meet at designated locations to receive instructions and place on a life jacket and an immersion suit without assistance in one minute or less. Must also move quickly without assistance to any designated lifeboat station.

Special Requirements:  Baader Certificate or equivalent training and experience. Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug tests required at employers expense. A criminal background check will be required at the employer’s expense. Days and shifts may vary. Holidays, weekends, and evenings required as needed. Employer reserves the right to pay a higher wage rate or bonus to any worker in their sole discretion based on performance, skill, tenure, or experience. Employer is offering up to 44 hours of overtime per week as needed, but not guaranteed. Employee housing is offered at no cost to the worker onboard the vessel. Up to the first 3 weeks of employment will include at least 40 hours of on the job training. Employment and housing is onboard the M/V Golden Alaska vessel. Must be at least 18 years of age due to Coast Guard regulations. Workers will be paid the equivalent of $34.65/hour for every hour worked for a minimum of 35 hours each week. Earning may increase as the worker will earn a % of the value for each overall trip.
