Job Duties:  Workers will install snow & ice equipment on standard work trucks, these are not special trucks but rather normal trucks that get upfitted with these tools. Given the wide range of brands and models it would be too long to list (virtually all trucks can be upfitted with this equipment), but a representative example would be a Ford F-450 pickup. There are 2 main groups of products: 1. Plows which go on the front of trucks and 2. Salt spreaders which go in the back. Both need to be “connected” with hydraulic and electrical systems already existing in the truck so they can be operated as part of the original truck (e.g. use light switches from inside the truck). Service, maintain, and repair snow equipment such as plows and salt spreaders and similar vehicles. Perform duties such as install, adjust, or repair hydraulic or electromagnetic automatic lift mechanisms, rebuild parts/materials, and repair/replace/adjust defectives parts. Use tools such as voltage meters, pressure indicators, and pneumatic vacuum equipment. Clean work area, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers.
