Forestry Worker

Number of Workers Requested:  6

Duties may include: Sort tree seedlings, discarding substandard seedlings, prepare the ground, and plant trees in reforestation areas, using manual and/or mechanical planting tools and equipment. Check equipment to ensure that it is operating properly. Operating skidders, bulldozers to pull a variety of scarification or site preparation equipment over areas to be regenerated. UNDER THE DIRECTION OF FIRE SUPPRESSION OFFICERS OR FORESTRY TECHNICIANS: Fight forest fires or perform prescribed burning tasks. Perform fire protection or suppression duties, such as constructing fire breaks or disposing of brush & other related Forestry Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-4011 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
