John Martin began farming on his own in 1919 in the town of Greece, New York, about 5 miles west of Rochester. There he grew fruits and vegetables and ran a dairy operation. In 1928 he moved to a 100-acre farm in Hilton, NY.
Today we are one of Western New York’s largest and best equipped growers, packers and shippers of cabbage and butternut squash for storage and fresh market.
Our common, cold and CA storage warehouses hold 15,000 tons of produce. We store cabbage until early July and butternut squash from October through early April. We ship 365 days a year, an average of 15 to 20 loads a week, much of it carried by our own refrigerated trucks. Our customers are slaw houses and major food handlers located from New York City to Chicago and beyond.
